Zelkova, Zelkova serrata, is a deciduous shade tree that grows vase-shaped. Its branches diverge at a 45 degree angle to the central axis. This is akin to that of American Elm and the tree is sometime referred to as Japanese Elm. The Dark green serrated leaves are 2-5 inch long. In fall they give way to yellow golden bronze, and reddish-purple colors. Makes a fine street trees, driveway trees, & park trees.

Soil Requirements
- Easily grown in average, medium wet, well-drained soils in full sun. Established trees tolerate some drought. Prefers rich, moist loams. Generally tolerant of urban conditions.
